You really can’t keep an old dog down – especially in Hollywood.
Just a couple of months on from Steven Spielberg’s comments that “there is only going to be one actor playing Indiana Jones, and that’s Harrison Ford…“, it appears the Oscar-winning director is sticking to his guns by confirming another Indie film is in the pipeline starring Mr Ford once again.
It’s surprising considering the box-office flop of the last installment, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which hit cinemas back in 2008 to disappointing reviews – mostly due to the unnecessary ‘extraterrestrial’ nature of the story.
Regardless of personal feelings regarding the franchise, Spielberg and Ford are clearly not finished with the adventurous character, despite many believing Shia Lebeouf, who played Indiana Jones son in the last film, would take over leading man duties for a brand new franchise – though such plans never came to fruition.
Disney clearly have a lot of faith in Harrison Ford’s ability to still pull in the masses – not surprising considering the colossal success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens which saw Ford return to another iconic role after almost 30 years.
